Welcome to another edition of Ganja & Girl Talk, a place for me to talk all things girly and stoner related. On today's girly note, can we please talk about highlighter. I have been obsessed with putting sparkle and shine on my face for as long as I can remember. As a kid I used to order mica powder from the back of magazines and mix it with baby powder in my grandmother's powder bowl and put it all over my face and chest and arms. Even five years ago, I was applying shimmer bronzer all over my face as setting powder (I'm glad I have since learned the proper placement for bronzer and highlight). Since I officially became a real student of makeup I have learned the art of subtlety, for what that's worth, and now only put shimmer in the correct places on my face. But, that does not mean that I have turned down the intensity or creativity of shimmering my face. This knowledge has only made me experiment with new colors and textures of highlighter, bronzer, luminizer, illuminator, and shadows. I have even been creating my own custom shades. And as with all creative stoner types, after creating my custom highlighters I pack that shit on and spend hours trying to take the perfect Boomerang video to show off my glow (not many make the cut sadly, I guess I'm just too picky).
After finally perfecting my formula and color choices, I've decided to bring you a little piece of The Prettiest Pothead in the form of High Times Highlighters! Left to right are 420, 7, and 3.5 and in the palette clockwise is Mermaid Babe, Stoner Babe, Unicorn Babe, and Fairy Babe.
I'm super excited and admittedly nervous to bring these to you but I hop that you love them as much as I do and most importantly that they help you put a little more life and a lot more YOU into your makeup routine!
Until next time...Love ya babes 💋
If you have followed me on social media or know me in real life then you know that I am bordering on being obsessive about exfoliation. As a girl with dry skin once I discovered the wonders of exfoliating I was converted and preaching the gospel at every available opportunity and esthetics school just reinforced all that I already knew and believed about exfoliating or refining as it is referred to in the Aveda world. With all of that being said, naturally my favorite thing next to toner would be exfoliants, scrubs mostly but I love a good enzymatic exfoliate as well. And naturally the second product that I perfected after graduating and becoming a licensed esthetician was a facial scrub followed by a lip scrub. But this is not just any facial scrub, I chose the most effective natural ingredients I could find to slough away dry, dead skin cells and leave you with an soft, smooth, glowing face.
So I present to you, my pretty girls, The Limited Edition Ganja & Girl Talk Exfoliating Facial Scrub! Formulated with love and 3 simple ingredients to scrub away the signs of the many sessions that are coming this month and after. Gentle yet effective this scrub smells as good as it will make your skin look. I can't wait for you all to try it and let me know what you think. Get yours now before they sell out, I am only offering limited quantities and once they're gone they may not make another appearance!
Until next time pretty girls...
The Prettiest Pothead
There is nothing more refreshing to me than misting my face with toner or facial mist! If you know me then you know that I have an actual obsession with fave sprays and that the very first product I ever perfected as a professional esthetician was toner. I'm not sure what it is about the cooling mist of botanicals on my face that just makes my skin feel moisturized and refreshed. Now since I am The Prettiest Pothead and I have been known to partake in a turn up or a few, I am prone to dry skin. My regular and sometimes excessive use of makeup does not help with the dryness any and add to that the reality that I have suffered with eczema and dry skin my entire life and the perfect storm of desert skin has been created. Enter facial mist, my skin's very best friend! A few sprays can take my face from Sahara to Oasis in a snap! Fine mist sprayers keep the product from disturbing your makeup and botanical ingredients like rose water and aloe vera hydrate your skin and combat the symptoms of dry skin such as tightness, early signs of aging and inflammation. What's not to love! As a general rule they are fully customizable and have been known to include rose, lavender, cucumber, distilled water, witch hazel, oils, aloe, various powdered ingredients suspended in glycerin, and pretty much anything that one can figure out how to mix into a liquid form and spray onto the face. In my vast experimentation, I have found that just because you CAN add ingredients doesn't mean that you SHOULD add them meaning that simplicity can be best when you are trying to combat a particular skin concern.
With all of this in mind, I formulated The Ganja & Girl Talk Hydrating Facial Mist containing only three thirst quenching ingredients and designed to hydrate between sessions without disturbing the SLAY-age that is your makeup game. Launching 4/7/17 in limited quantities so get yours today!
Until next time pretty girls...

The Prettiest Pothead's Guide to Lip Products
Scale: up to 5
Staying Power: 💄💄💄💄💄
Lip Balm Compatibility: 👄👄👄👄👄
So if you are a true pretty girl stoner then you understand that your choice of lip formula can make or break your session decisions for the day. If there is too much transfer you are left with the choice of blowing solo, can we say glass pieces or vape pens, or removing and reapplying your lip color before and after every session. If there isn't enough staying power then you are still left with having to reapply after each session and if the lip balm compatibility isn't right then you are left with transfer issues. So as a die hard makeup obsessed pretty girl stoner, it is my duty to review and rate the myriad of lip products that I own based on the above criteria.
Well hello stoner babes and welcome back to Ganja & Girl Talk. I was rolling up and pondering some of the many problems that plague the pretty potheads of the world and the main one that I kept coming back to is lips. Yes LIPS! Now bear with me for a minute while I explain and then if you still think I'm nuts then so be it. So all pretty girls know that the lips can make or break an entire makeup look, the wrong color or texture or worse even, no lip color can change the whole vibe of your look. And if you have a boyfriend like mine then you also know that it is a major violation to get your lip product of choice on the blunt. It is also pretty difficult to roll up with a mouth full of brightly colored sticky, shimmering gloss or even worse is the drying, cement feeling of matte lip colors. The struggle that is being The Prettiest Pothead got me to thinking a few months ago about a product that could moisturize your lips and give you enough shine to pull a look together without being a sticky, shiny mess all over your piece or your spliff. So I began researching (the nerd in me always prevails), and experimenting (I'm a big ass kid at heart) until I created the perfect concoction. And after thorough testing, I finally got up the nerve to share it with you.
So, I present to you The Ganja & Girl Talk Hydrating Lip Oil! This strawberry scented oil was created with love and a lip moisturizing powerhouse of oils that are sure to heal even the driest of smoker's lips and give them the perfect amount of shine to reveal a lush pout but without the transfer and stickiness of traditional glosses.
LAUNCHING 4/7/17! LIMITED EDITION! LIMITED QUANTITIES!

The Prettiest Pothead
I am the prettiest pothead
Since this is the inaugural post of Ganja and Girl Talk I decided that I should just introduce myself. I am a self proclaimed pot smoking princess. I love everything girly, glittery, lacy, and weed related and this blog was meant to be an outlet for all of my makeup obsessed musings that I can't talk to my boyfriend about. I love beauty, I eat, sleep, and breathe it. The idea of learning about and applying my knowledge of skin care, makeup, brow, lash, and nail trends is what gets me out of bed in the mornings.
So with that being said, it is only natural that when I am in a lifted and therefore more focused state, that my mind would wander to the thing that I love the most. I am also a writer to my core. I love the idea of using words to convey ideas and feelings and images to an audience or even just to yourself. And as I am sure you have gathered, my third great love is marijuana. I have been an avid smoker since I was in college and although I am most definitely a stoner and down for recreational smoking any time, I am also fully convinced through my own experience that weed is most definitely medicine.
I have battled with anxiety for as long as I can remember, not just millennial bullshit diagnosis anxiety, but crippling can't get out of bed terrified to go out anxiety that lands people in the psych ward. After my stint in the university's finest behavioral health ward, I tried the anti anxiety and antidepressant cocktail that was offered to me but I always felt like I was walking through a cloud and all I wanted to do was sleep and have sex and go shopping. None of which were healthy outlets for my anxiety, so since I was already a recreational smoker, I started smoking to cope with how shitty the pills made me feel and one day I just stopped taking the pills but kept smoking everyday and I started actually getting up in the mornings and getting my life together. I got back in school, moved to another state, got a job and a car and kinda started getting my life back on track.
Not that it has been a perfect ride, but I will say that Ms. Mary Jane has held my hand and allowed me to accomplish quite a lot and I honestly don't believe I would have had the same outcome if I had continued with the pharmaceutical cocktail recommended by the psychiatrist. So with all of that being said, why wouldn't I want to combine those three things into a creative outlet for myself. Hopefully it will be enjoyable or at the very least entertaining, but the beauty of the Internet is that if you don't like it then you can move on to something else. But here's to being self proclaimed pot princesses and having lots of Ganja and Girl Talk.
